David Merrill VP of Business Dev & Marketing
David has more than twenty-five years of experience in services, operations, business development, and product management. Prior to coming to Bask, he managed his own private consulting firm providing business process counsel, service strategies and training, operational structure analysis, program development, pricing and licensing, and other general business consulting.
Previously, David had a nineteen-year career at Novell which included roles as Director of Business Development for Global Services, Vice President of Americas Services and Vice President of Product Management, Collaboration Technologies. He gained a great ability to bring together technology, marketing, and technical services to drive product sales. David was a key architect in designing the Premium Service programs at Novell, as well as in implementing and growing the new service business from startup to more than $160 million in annual revenues.
As vice president of the Collaboration Technologies division, he oversaw a global product revenue stream of $360 million annually, as well as the product design, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategy for enterprise server, email and collaboration suite, identity based file management, and teaming/social networking technology.
David has a bachelor degree in finance from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from Utah State University. He spoke regularly on quality service delivery, process and operations development, technology and cloud services, and in building high powered organizations through trust, “open source” methodologies, and quality personnel.
When not working, David can generally be found on his bicycle somewhere in Utah. He is very active in community politics and is frequently volunteers for community and religious service.
David and his wife are the proud parents of four accomplished children.
