When you are shopping for a new laptop, do not be afraid to purchase a laptop that doesn’t have a CD or DVD drive. Did you look on the side of a laptop and get a panicky feeling when you didn’t see that little slot for DVDs or CDs?

Have no fear! There are solutions that will ensure you get the benefit of having a CD/DVD drive when you know that you want to purchase a laptop that does not have the CD/DVD drive built in. One of the easiest solutions that you can go with is to purchase an external DVD drive. You can get these drives for as little as $30 or $40. All that you have to do is plug the external drive into your USB port and you will be ready to go.

If you are worried about lugging around an extra drive, you can always buy a flash drive. A flash drive is more compact but still a great way to carry the files or media that you will need. You will just have to spend a few dollars on a flash drive and if you are burning CDs on a consistent basis, you may end up saving money when you purchase a flash drive.

So, when you find the perfect computer that does not have a DVD or CD drive, push that panicky feeling away. Go ahead with your purchase and you will be able to enjoy your laptop for many years to come!
