Cloud computing has become somewhat of a buzzword in the technology world. If you have heard of cloud computing, but you are not quite sure exactly what cloud computing is, look no further. The simplest way to understand what cloud computing is, is to think of the service like you would think of your electricity. When you plug something into a wall in your home, you may not know where the electricity is coming from and, more than likely, you did not create that electricity yourself, but you do know that the electricity will be there when you need it.

When you are working with cloud computing, you will find that you are able to access your applications, files or data anywhere that you want. Whatever you choose to store on your cloud computing, you can access through your Internet connection. The majority of companies have started using cloud computing, simply because it lifts a load of responsibility off of the IT team.

If your entire company is storing information on your internal system, your IT company will be responsible for the upkeep of this information. This information, if lost, will be lost because of something that the IT department did or did not do. Cloud computing, allows companies to utilize storage that is managed by an out-of-office entity. This way, the information or data will be securely stored, but your IT department will not have the responsibility of the upkeep and safety of the data and information that is stored.
