Step One

The taskbar is typically located on the bottom left corner of your screen. You should see a rectangle labeled “Search the web and Windows.” (If not, you can also click the Windows logo in the far left corner and follow the same steps.) In the search bar, type “Settings” and press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard. Select ‘Settings’ from the menu that appears.

Step Two

When the Settings window opens, there will be a menu on the left side. Select ‘Personalization.’ From here you will have the option to select ‘Background,’ ‘Colors,’ ‘Lock Screen,’ ‘Themes,’ and ‘Start.’ All of these are tools used to customize the appearance of your Windows. For a desktop slideshow, select ‘Themes.’ In the Themes menu, select the first option ‘Classic theme settings.’

Step Three

This will open a new menu. On the right side of the window under the first section is a blue link labeled ‘Get more themes online.’ Select this to be directed to the Windows theme store with hundreds of free or premium slideshows. Take time browsing the different themes and simply download your favorite.
