To access files on your PC, you use a window called the “Explorer”. Watch the video to learn a fast and convenient shortcut for accessing your Explorer.

The Windows operating system uses, well, windows to organize the programs and files on your computer. The main window for accessing your files is called the “Explorer”.

No matter what application you’re using at the moment, you can easily access your Explorer by pressing the Windows key and the letter “E”.

The Explorer will appear on your screen and, just like a window, it’s divided into panes. The left hand pane lists your computer libraries: these are places where you can save documents, photos, and videos. The right hand pane shows the contents of the library you select.

Select the library you want to access—in this case, we’re looking for our documents folder—with a single click. Simple as that.
