After looking back into the technology revolutions from 2011, it is only natural to look forward to 2012. As technology continues to develop at a rapid pace, consumers can expect that many new technological advances and products will be made in the new year.

Here are the 2012 Tech Predictions:

1. Ultrabooks will start to boom. Coined as the ‘laptop for the masses’ these ultrabooks will become plausible for consumers in many different positions with a price tag of $500-$600.

2. As Tim Cook settles in as CEO of Apple, the company will start to target the enterprise. Tim Cook will tap into all of the money that is available in the enterprises.

3. Microsoft’s Windows 8 will allow Windows to be more competitive in the tablet market. Although Microsoft will never overcome the iPad, it will be a distant second in companies across the nation. The Amazon Kindle Fire will take the number two spot with consumers, pushing Microsoft into the number three spot.

4. Microsoft and Nokia’s relationship will be beneficial for both parties. Nokia will begin to have a stronger presence in the U.S. market but the Windows Phone will not take over.

5. Intel will start to compete and gain some ground in the mobile market. As power and performance becomes more important for mobile devices, Intel will become more successful.

Looking forward to a year full of new technology and changes is exciting. We anticipate that this year will be a great year for the tech industry.
